5 Minutes With Rapper D4M $LOAN
On his favorite thing about Philadelphia:
The vibe! Everyone sticks together when it's time, like for the [Philadelphia] Eagles, and shows and concerts when it's time to support Philly.
On the meaning of D4M:
Do It For Mir! That's my homie who passed away. We started a movement in his name. We created a whole brand, everything we were doing we doing it for Mir and living out his dream. He wanted to rap first. His mom paid for our first studio session.
On his inspiration for "Vogue Love":
There was a little inspiration from Biggie's "Just Playing (Dreams)." I wanted to put my spin on it and show love to the women in the industry in my own cool way.
On playing Darnell on Bel-Air:
That was a great first experience with acting. The way it started was from a DM which lead up to an audition. That DM request could have been anything. I've focused on music for the last few months, but I'm ready to hop back into acting.
On maintaining his mental health:
I try to keep a leveled mind. I pray every night. I do stuff to make myself happy and focus on myself from time to time. I have to stay on social media because of my career, but I try to stay off of social media sometimes and get out of the house more and do things to keep my mind moving.
