Common and Pete Rock Release Video For “When The Sun Shines Again”
Common and Pete Rock dropped an official visual for “When The Sun Shines Again,” featuring Bilal & Posdnuos from De La Soul, from their full-length collaborative project, The Auditorium, Vol. 1.
The video, directed by Marleaux Desire and ILLIMITEWORD, finds Common and Pete Rock rapping their verses around elements of nature. Under the sunshine and in front of a campfire Common spits, "Money ain't swaying me, that's the Dave in me/Some took shots over bars, they ain't grazing me/The way I move from A to B, they hate to see/The hawk can sing a song for me to live gracefully." Pete Rock takes the second verse performing in the woods, "So they say that I'm a GOAT, but that I do ignore/'Cause a goat can be slaughtered and cooked up in curry/And ate up in a hurry and that I can't afford."
The Auditorium, Vol. 1. project dropped in July and features artists like Bilal, Posdnuos (of De La Soul), and Jennifer Hudson. Common and Pete Rock recently wrapped up The Auditorium Tour, which included stops across the U.S. and culminated in a sold-out residency at New York City's Blue Note Jazz Club. The duo are also nominated for several BET Hip Hop Awards, including "Best Duo/Group" and "Impact Track," which will air on BET on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024.
