3 Fashion Images Of A Man In A Business Suit Levitating

Be it the emoji you never knew existed or a random New York Times crossword puzzle answer, a "man in a business suit levitating" is a breakout Google search and I had to understand why. Who was floating? What did I miss at the most recent 2025 Golden Goldens or on the red carpet, which aired two days ago(Jan 5th)? A quick Google search led me to an emoji I've never seen or used —a man in a business suit levitating. Typing my phrase on my phone confirmed its existence.

Vincent Connare created the MIBSL while working for Microsoft in the late 90s. The emoji (🕴️) draws inspiration from the 1970s logo of the skate punk band Walt Jabsco, based on an illustration of a man in a black suit and sunglasses designed by artist David Storey for the British record label 2 Tone Records.

I am drawing a blank on how this emoji is used or why it still exists. In 2016, MIBSL was one of the least popular emojis used when there was still an emoji tracker, according to Newsweek. With 15 minutes of my time wasted, I had to write about it. There have to be some fashion images out there inspired by this emoji. It's silly, yet it's menswear -- a full suit with shirting and shoes with sunglasses to add a little suave factor. With the criteria of a man airborne wearing a suit (glasses extra credit), three fashion images crossed my path in my search. Check them out below and let us know if we should do an editorial inspired by a man in a business suit levitating.

Model Ed Saldanha took flight in a menswear editorial entitled “Loose Yourself to Dance” for the March 2014 issue of GQ Brasil. Saldanha wore Brunello Cucinelli, Zegna, Giorgio Armani and Louis Vuitton.
