10 Key Menswear Pieces From Versace by Fendi "Fendace" Collection
Versace by Fendi or Fendace, the latest fashion collection between luxury fashion houses is here, and the menswear is just as gaudy in design as the womenswear.
Described as " a swap rather than a collaboration" by Kim Jones, artistic director of Fendi couture and womenswear to Vogue Magazine, for the first time Donatella Versace, Silvia Venturini Fendi, and Kim Jones switched fashion houses to design 25 look capsule collection for the other. “It is the beauty of togetherness after time apart and a celebration of women who have inspired me so much,” Jones continued.
The results of the friendly design off reminiscent of Gianni Versace and Karl Lagerfeld's friendly feud was special. A 50-look collection where Fendi's Zucca print, first introduced by Lagerfeld, clashed with Versace's baroque print on button-down tops, silk-short sets, low top trainers and suiting.
Now, nearly eight months later, the Fendace collection and campaign are here, and those menswear pieces from Fendi and Versace's alliance are ready to hit the pavement. On the brand's new Pre-Fall line-up and collection, Donatella Versace told Vogue, “The campaign captures the same sense of friendship and energy we had when we were designing the collection. Kim is a visionary designer and innovator. To me, Fendace will always mean love.”
