2 Black Men Are CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalists
Brothas representing menswear and womenswear will compete for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund's top prize. Designers Christopher John Rogers and Abdul Abasi, one half of Abasi Rosborough has secured their finalist spots for one of the most coveted fashion awards an emerging designer can earn. Past winners, including some ken folk, Telfar Clemens of Telfar and Kerby Jean - Raymond of Pyer Moss have taken home the $400,000 prize and the mentorship for top tier industry insiders in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
Rounding out the top 10 finalists along with Rogers and Abasi (and his co-designer Greg Rosborough) are: Alejandra Alonso Rojas; Victor Barragan of Barragán, Hillary Taymour of Collina Strada, Danielle Hirsch of Danielle Frankel, Raffaella Hanley of Lou Dallas, Siying Qu and Haoran Li of Private Policy, Reese Cooper, and Natalie Ratabesi of Tre by Natalie Ratabesi. Vogue's Editor in Chief and Condé Nast's Artistic Director Anna Wintour called this 2019 class of fresh designers, “a true reflection of American fashion – and the world – today, speaking to creativity, community, and sustainability.”
The winner and 2 runners up that will take home $150,000 each will be announced on November 4th.
