Incase You Missed It: Dressing Up As A Cowboy Is A Ting In 2018
We're about eight months shy of Halloween, but that hasn't deterred the wild wild west style that's surfacing in 2018. Plain and simple, guys are opting to dress like Woody from Toy Story, and it started with Houston Rocket's Point Guard Chris Paul at their game against the Timberwolves. Paul, who was traded from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Houston Rockets last June pulled up to Friday's night game in head to toe cowboy attire complete with a supersized belt bucket, cowboy boots, and the signature 360 brim hat.
Paul wasn't alone this weekend. The Money Team's very own Floyd Mayweather embraced a western style of dressing at the Lakers-Mavericks game, adding exotic skin touches to his skinny jeans, plaid shirt, and Hermes Belt Buckle. Though both gentlemen wore their best cowboy get up in the spirit of 'Go Texan Day,' both looks add to a potential emerging menswear trend. Designer Pyer Moss sourced Bill Pickett, a black cowboy and rodeo performer from the 19th century as inspiration for his Fall 2018 collection which recently debuted during New York Fashion Week. The Brooklyn native's interpretation of rodeo wear included button downs, contrast stitching, and patchwork outerwear. Stay tuned as we track how this young trend evolves.
