How Much?: This Duffel Bag Was Designed To Carry 1 Million Dollars Cash

BRANDT-SORENSON brings a new meaning to “secure the bag” with their latest handheld accessory. We've all watched those infamous money transactions movie scenes where a bag filled with cash is passed along from one party to the next. From Money or Nothing (1993), directed by Ramón Menéndez to Funny Money (2006), led by Leslie Grief, we all dream of being the character that finds the tote filled with cold hard cash. And making those dreams closer to reality is BRANDT-SORENSON's USADADA™ Puff MoneyBag.

The duffel comes in two materials, Dyneema, a rugged laminated grey textile that is 15x stronger than steel, and a ripstop ultralight hunter green material. “The dye colors used in the USADADA Puff Money Bag are inspired by colors I was surrounded with in my childhood in Oregon,” co-owner and designer Nick Brandt-Sorenson explains. “Growing up in a small logging town, where I started sewing my own apparel and competing athletically at the age of ten, I trained at Serpentine Ridge, which is named for the waxy greenish, flaky rock type it’s made of. The ride is a brutal hour-long climb up a steep logging road, but there’s a beautiful section at the top where there are succulent plants that grow only on the jagged serpentine rocks. They are a soft dusty green color with rounded edges and orange-red tips. The colors are opposites but the tones are similar, so you experience a zapping effect.”

Both bags have a two-way zip-top closure, inside pockets, hand-cut, and sewn typography in orange and designed using textiles utilized by US Special Forces. The duffels are also insulated and can give off warmth, perfect when it's up against your body during the fall and winter season.

Of course, the most impressive feature the USADADA Puff Money Bag possess is the ability to carry 1 million dollars cash. With a weight capacity of 23lbs, the duffel can fit the money using $100 bills stacked three rows vertical, three horizontal, and eleven bundles tall, with one bundle on top to equal the million bucks. “It’s a soft and serious bag,” says BRANDT-SORENSON's co-owner and brand director Cecilia Brandt. “Pillowy enough to hold a swimsuit and beach towel and durable enough for heavy necessities.”

The handmade bag retails at $1,650,00 and $1,750.00 for the ripstop ultralight and Dyneema respectively and is available on brandt-sorenson.com.
